getting my ecu sent away to get tested to check it is ok :) costing me £65 tho :! :(
worth it for the peace of mind and means i am able to tick that off the list of possibile problems:|

more investigations on mig lead me to believe it is an X16XE

i will need to have another look at the engine number :|
the top inlet and gearbox make me think it is an x16xe.
mite try get a new ecu for a x16xe then

i was having a close look at my engine last night especially the engine no.
it is hard to read but i am worrying it maybe says X16XEL
Should i try and get an ecu for one of these engines instead:boggle: :|

tryed vaux dealer but they are only able to do a diagnostic :(

yes, there's a device we have at college for testing them, you simply plug them in and test the different parameters and look for faults...

Not sure where you can go to have this done however, i'm sure vauxhall would check it for not much...
