Strange that i have fault read my other halfs fault codes when she had air mass meter trouble......

Ok teddy if it worked for you then i believe you but i know the paperclip test doesnt work on x12xe's ...

It does work on the x12xe. If you ECU detects a fault it will store it until the ecu is cleared (hence disconnecting the battery which does this)

Only catch is, the ecu light has to be on for more than 5 seconds to store a fault.

yup!!! i was told that it only works on present codes [mine is intermitant] and that it does not work on the 1.2 16v.......:boggle: i dunno.... to cap it all off my rad just started leaking...... happy!!!!!!

Deconnect the battery and reset the ecu.

leave it off for around 15 mins then reconnect then see what happens.

When you changed the air mass meter did you actually read the fault codes off?

for a while been having problems with it.....when i got it it was quite nippy (for a 1.2 16v). any way now it is majourly holding back and the engine managment light would come on then go off when i let off the throtle.

i have changed the mass airflow metre the management light does not come on now but it still holds back really badly. could it be the lambda sensor?????

also it does not idle propery on cold start......:look:

any ideas?????
