I told my insurance company about fitting the 2.0 engine and they said it won't effect my premium! couldn't believe it. I think they're a few sandwhiches short of a picnic

My insurance quote will insure me identically on a conversion as apposed to a 1.6... they said they will just insure it as the car the engine came out of, I.e a gsi :)

if i was you id sell you car and get a 1.6 sport... be cheaper to insure for a start, never mind easier to insure, many companies wont insure mine becuase its had a conversion but will insure me on a 1.6 sport... also i pay £770 fully comp on my converted 1.4 -> 1.6 sport but would only be £600 on a 1.6 sport... few things to think about

its simple enough if your handy with a spanner and know how things work... can be labour intensive though... my advise would be to take a week to do it... just do a small bit at a time... that way you'll enjoy it..

great conversion... but i would consider an uprated inlet manifold and not an f15cr gearbox...

standard 1.6 16v is 0-60 is 9.5seconds, can be less can be more depends how good you are... bhp is 106 or 109 depending what 1.6 you get. top speed, well its about 120ish.... but it will take a while to get there... look in the performance stats at the top for more info
