don't bother with enlarged tb, go for panel filter, exhaust and cylinder headwork with these lumps, they're hard as fook to kill from my experience

Some lad on here called niven had a turbo'd one claiming about 150 bhp question the reliability :! I'd just stick with the usual and some carbs if I were going to do it :)

My mate had a 1.4 8v SRi. He had Full system exhaust including manafold, boost valve, head work, filter and a chip. It's running 105bhp.

I've read up on these engines and tuning, and people have claimed to have upto 150bhp.

Depends how much you're paying ;)

well ive been offered an enlarged throttle body and inlet plenum, sportex manifold + decat and a remapped ecu for this setup.

the guy recons this will add around 15-18 BHP. do you think this would be worth buying?

IMO its a waste of time to tune one "just to be different" as BHP per £ is reletively low and you'll regret it when for the same money you could of fitted a tuned 1.6 16v or even a 20XE

but its up to you at the end of the day :)

no i done that after blowing the head, what finished the car was the tree i hit

I have a spare c14se knocking about totally stripped all been shot blasted etc  was planning on doing some bits to it but decided I couldn't be assed  good basis to start if u wana buy it :| £75 with all ancillaries (loom ecu etc  )

I'd think cam, polish and port, and manifold/exhaust/decat you'd also need to put carbs on imo and you'd be looking at 125bhp tops

has anyone ever gone down this route? iv'e had a search and found very little. i think im going to try this instead of fitting a bigger 16v engine, just to be different.

If you have done this what did you do and what gains did you get?

Thanks
