from experience if you get cought with non and you get a producer they will make you get it legal - ie mount in mirrors or wing, take it to an MOT station and get it checked and take paperwork back to the station, or they may just ask that you bring it to the station after - saving MOT cost

2 be legal, if you are stood 1 meter to the side of the rear corner of the car you need to be able to see a flashing orange light, they are for people that are too far in front of your rear indicators and too far behind the front indicators (pretty much your blind spot) to be able to see that you are planing on moving into thier lane

For info its cars after 86 that have 2 have side repeaters, all corsa's are tho, my old nova (83) didnt ever have any from factory

You need side repeaters, they can be anywhere so long as they aren't lower x"... Whether they check the hights at MOT time I don't know. So they can be on the wheel arch, spoiler, wing, rear quater pannel, door e.t.c...

If you want a really smooth look I would suggest you put some tiny super bright orange LED's in the arch. That way you can't see them, but they are there...

So it will probably be illegal if you got a producer for loose side repeaters?

I got a producer for having a loose side repeater. :o It wasn't fastened in properly and was slightly hanging out and apparantly it was dangerous bodywork. :|

I shouldn't complain really because he didn't mention my slick tyres..

doubt police would care or notice really!

but then you may get the copper that checks everything!

i would very much doubt they would do you!

So if I get stopped by the police with no side repeaters it will be OK?

orrrrrrrrr dont know if they will go for it or not but run the wire out the window and put window up and stick them to the window!

as long as the are safe and securely fastened to the wing, wing mirror they should pass.

i know little about law so could be completely wrong

stick them on the mirror with double sided riht on the end and run the wires in to the mirror just for MOT like!

CorsaSRi16v

I don't want them on the mirror as it will spoil the effect you see.

yeah they will only go through if they are visible on the car (when flashing)
on mirrors etc

i think it's a legal requirement in this country to have them somewhere, on wings/mirrors etc, i may be wrong....don't think you would get away with taping them to side of car, safety issues i would eckon...may be wrong though..

i moved mine to my mirrors, was fine for MOT

Is it a legal requirement to have them for an MOT? If so can I just get away with sticking some on the side with tape for the MOT with wires from under the bonnet?

Also is it a legal requirement to have side repeaters?

Cheers Mark
