Cheers fellas. I am on broadband but want to make sure. I have been doing some work in telecoms and the amount it happens is scary!

Can anyone reccommend a decent spyware checker type thing?

Cheers

just run a spyware cleaner that will rid it, and no if the PC is not on, it will not dial

get broadband, or disconect the modem cable when the PC isnt being used. Up to date antivirus software is a must, and probably a firewall too. My dad got stung with one of these and had an £800 phone bill for a month!

Does anyone know anything about those dodgy diallers that are put on your comp via a dialler?

ie. they dial up premium numbers without you knowing resulting in massive bills.

Anyone know if having no power to your comp will stop this problem?

I don't have one but just heard of a guy who had a 10k bill for a month without him even knowing!

Any other security measures that can be taken?
