I also have about 7 miles of speaker wire that I could use... Hmmm, I'll give it a go after breakfast. I can't be arsed with it anymore. And it's leaking water again :( Need to do up one of the jubilee clips tighter......

also try taking the relay out and bridging terminals 30 and 87b, fuel pump should run constantly

are the relays 6 pin jobbies on these??

if so edwardo

terminal 87b from the relay is the signal wire to the pump (red and blue)

terminal 87 is a red and blue input wire from the ecu..

30 is big red perminant battery live

86 **i think** is a switched live from ignition switch, smaller red wire

85 is **i think** the ground wire, brown and white

the last one ive got down here is 85b (which doesn't exist according to DIN standards  ) but its a brown and blue wire, looks like its an output/ground to the ecu..

may help, maynot :)

you must have the black wire connected wrong it should get a spark from that :)

Ok, I got the starter motor to work, but for some reason the fuel pump wont start up... My multi meter says there are no volts getting to the pump and there are about 0.8 volts on the small red and blue wire at the relay and 12 volts on the big red and blue wire.... Anyone else had similar probs?

the starter is earthed through the block, make sure the earth going down from battery/bulkhead is connected to the block itself and, mine was connetted to the black plastic coolant pipe but on the wrong side so wasnt doing jack. just moved it co it was touching the block and all was well :D

When I ran a wire from the battery to the signal wire on the starter motor it worked fine... Will have a look on Sunday :)

Ok, checked it and I get the clicking noise from the solinoid I think, but the stater motor doesn't turn the engine over... How odd :look:

Ah ok.... I know the one you mean, it's my mystery plug :) Will go check it out in a minute... Cheers lad.

its the ignition live wire, at the end of the loom after the injectors there is 3 connecttors, one to the hall sensor, one to the coil pack amplifier, and the other single black wire with a round connector on the end, cut this connecttor off and solder a wire to it, run this through the car and solder the the black wire on the corsa loom that is near the ecu.

The one that pops the relay? I haven't connected that to anything yet because I can't find anything to plug/wire it onto.....

Mistamist

have you connected the black wire from the corsa loom near the ECU to the connection near the Coil?

Ok, I just hot wired my car so there is no issue with the starter motor. I just can't a) get the ECU to turn on, b) get the fuel pump to turn on and c) get the starter motor to do anything when I turn the key.

The car was an L reg 1.2 8v Merit and the engine came from a G reg Cavalier GSi 2000.

I am totally lost here and don't have a clue how to get it running :(
