Yes if these engines are not taken to high revs to time to time they suffer badly from sticky valves.

also if thrashed all the time then driven steady b careful cuz this can cause sticky valves, usully run tank down then stick a fiver of optimax in with redex n nail it-sorted-sometimes if ecu reports egr valve this can mean sticky valves as well if the valve sticks open as opposed to sticking closed

try 10K Boost follow instructions and put it through the Air intake then Proceed to Boot it down a Motorway .. It's a bit Expensive but it cleared a problem in my corsa which Sounds similar to yours!

If it Saves you from Stripping the Whole lot down before PVS It's worth it's weight in gold

to list a few

fuel filters
fuel pump
injectors

we had a truck that just stopped and wouldnt start, problem was fuel related, took a day to find that problem.

the fuel pump started to chew its self to pieces, and metal fillings were in the injectors everywhere,.

stil not working, pray urs isnt a simular problem

Take it out for an hour or two. Hammer it, motorway driving, b-roads the lot. Its a 16v and they like to be revved!

how easy r they to clean then?

for a 1.4 16v sport it aint quick, i think the whole engine needs looking at!

i want a 2 litre but insurance would sting me!!

No ECU light?

Could be dirty injectors...

iv owned my car over a year, no problems with it at all as i only use it out of working hours. Iv only done 2k miles in over a year and now im looking forward to pvs my engines playing up

typical! im gutted, im not sure if my car will make it over to santa pod and i dunt live to far away!

i wouldn't even have minded as much if this had happened 2 weeks ago but not 2 days before!!!

rant over! :o
