the small one goes in to the bigger pipe.

but its a wank job tho.

Spoke to the MD of power flow and he didnt see what the problem was.

I went back with it about 7 or 8 times. loads of problems including their second attempt which was too small and fell apart.

Is it just the angle of the camera, or does the more rusty pipe get wider just before it goes into the new pipe?

If so, that's going to play havoc with air-flow, from my understanding of flow-dynamics theory......you'll be getting small swirls of back-pressure at the outer edges, since there's no space for the excess air to flow into.

this is the fix they did

This is what they did to mine!

They made it too short so it didnt fit in to the box box!

I told them beforehand that it needed to look good because the car would eventually be shown at shows (which would be a good advert for them), I guess they ignored that since they used grade-409 steel.

Even my dad, who worked in the steel-industry at the time, said that the quality of steel used was abysmal...

Dan B: Thats shocking! I had no end of problems with mine!

Theyve just done some work on mine - i had a custom centre section made a year ago, to move the bend further back and a slightly bigger bore - and I have no problems with the quality of their work

Also had a new cat fitted(which I supplied) by them last week, they had to do some pipework, trimming and rejoining to fit the new centre section and they made a fantastic job - and charged me £15 for a couple of hours work

My exhaust has been spot on, a lot of people forget its a franchise so each different outlet could be different

i had a full stainless powerflow exhaust on my golf, i raised these issues with them before i had it done. he said they had been having that many complaints that they have now changed the grade of stainless steel which they were using. im very happy with the job they did on my golf. just a little pin hole in one of the welds :(

I used Top Gear in st albans.

Work was fine. Customer service was one of the worst ive ever encountered in any shop/retail outles ever.

Dan

An example of a Powerflow reseller's (Top Gear in Burnley) work:

http://alcoholic.custard.org/exhaust

That's a "stainless steel" exhaust after 9 months on the car...
