insurance would be no more than $200 i suspect, although depends on car etc etc, £200 is less than £100.

hey Nova, your UK license is fine, im still using mine to drive with. when you buy a cheap car (loads of em here), you need to insure it, and make sure it has a green slip (MOT kind of) and also car registration. Rego is very similar to tax disc. Most cars will have one with remaining time left, but green slip has to be completed by new owner which will cost around $100. Insurance is fairly easy going :)

I hired a Holden Commodore V6 when I was in Sydney for 2 weeks in January... I only had to provide my driver's license number from the photo bit of my license.

Does anyone know what is needed to drive in Australia? Im thinking about buying a cheap car out there and using it, then flogging it before i leave. |
