Originally posted by bradfincham phase 2 is what i want, to buy an let, rebuild, fmic, phase 2 is about 2.5k, 210 bhp throttle body needs heaps of internals and will be 2.5k - 3.5k at a guess
The only internal work on an xe to get 210bhp you need are big end bolts. I used Cosworth but ARP do them as well. The only reason you need them is for the 8,000rpm limit. Full throttle body kit is £2000 with management. That will take a good 155bhp xe to 190ish, add to that a manifold, big end bolts, a 2.25" zorst, cams, trumpets and a gas flowed head and you would easily see 210bhp! I just dont think the LET is the way forward in a corsa, but to be honest I dont think a 2 litre engine and box is full stop. I reckon a 1.6xe on throttle bodies with about 150bhp is a good balance!
