Yup. You can drive to the test centre without an MOT/tax as long as you can prove you were booked in for an MOT (if you get pulled).

insurance --> mot -->tax ( you need mot for tax ) *i think*

my mates cars been standing and has none of the above

you cant get tax without insurance
you cant get an MOT without insurance to drive to MOT centre

so its insurance first, then what?
