Why is it a common problem for the engine to piss oil out of every hole?

If two surfaces aren't mating together to make a tight seal, you use a gasket.

Does the XE have more gaskets than other engines or something??

Where is the oil??
all over the sump?
Have you checked the oil pump gaskets?

around the oil pump was where mine was leaking.

i replaced both sump gaskets, oil pump gasket, oil pump seal, oil dipstick holder thingy:o camshaft seal just to be sure and it still leaked!

what i found is that if it appears to be coming from the oil filter/oil pump where it joins the sump, it could be the metal spacer in the sump gasket that causes the leak.
the spacer was half way accross the oil pump and halfway across the block, stopping the sump and oil pump being sealed!

so in the end it was a pretty simple fix!:|

540 is too thin and will make it tap like a whore on crack

If you actually look at vauxhalls oil it isnt a particularly fine quality. The comma 10 40 my local factors sell is actually a better quality oil than vauxhalls.
