Originally posted by Happy_2008 Ok guys i need help, Having finished uni in May studying Business & BIT i have been working in the family fast food business ever since. However, i have recently got a new job as a call handler (started 10/1/05) in an IT business. Now, having worked there for only 3 days i am beginning to get bored of the process of my job. Basically, when people have a problem with the software that this company sells, they call the helpdesk (me) to log the problem into Epicor. Now having been watching people use Epicor i have found it to be quite easy to use so i have just begun to log calls into the system today, for technical staff to resolve. Now after doing this for about 3 hrs i have become very bored with the job as its not challenging. Now to make matters worse, the help desk telephone number all runs to the same phone that i work on. Basically, if the phone is busy, the receptionist takes the msg and sends me the email in which i have to call back to make the same arrangements as above. To add further insult to injury i am required to work 9am-6pm during weekdays all for a whopping salary of 11k which after tax and NI leaves me with practically nothing. I am currently considering leaving the job only after 3 days as i have come to conclude that this is not my type of job, as its not challenging and boring. But the trouble is that i dont really have much work experience so that is currently the stumbling block. I might just ask my head of department the role of my job and whether he had another job that is more challenging. But what would you guys do? Stay or go whilst im on my probationary period? I could earn around the same money working in my family business and thats only doing around 25hrs a week.
