16. Fuel Vapour Actuator – When you fill your vehicle with fuel, this fuel is cold. The fuel will expand if the air temperature is warmer than the fuel in the ground. As this fuel expands it has to go somewhere such as the purge tank/expansion tank. These are then sucked into the engine through the fuel vapour actuator during combustion. So the HC and CO emissions will get burnt or vented to the atmosphere if the pressure gets too high in the expansion tank | |

coolent temp affects HC and CO levels because depending on the temp of the engine will make it less or more efficent. | |
