X14XE's have a "4" in them where X16XE's have a "6" in em.

With inlet manifold removed you would not be able to tell the difference between a C16XE & X16XE especially with carbs fitted to that one.

X14XE & X16XE is even harder to tell the difference, normally a X16XE will have ABS the 14XE won't.
