cant you just take a feed from the battery and run through a switch

tehn just flick the switch up to operate the solenoid

i'm not sure that i'd be happy with an electrical switch in such close proximity to petrol vapour.

The way to wire it is either,

a) Wire a switch into a permenant live inside the car - somehwere quickly accesable. Then fit a push button into the fuel filler area of the car - hide this well though. Then wire this up the the solinoid.

b) Do the above but wire the push button to an ignition live so that you can only operate the push button when the engine is switched on with the keys in the ignition.

c) If you have central locking your fuel filler flap will lock and not open while the doors are locked. Wire in a push button off of a permenant live that is fitted in the fuel filler flap.

d) Get an alarm with the option of having a boot pop as an accessory.

it's a two stage boot lock. there's no solenoid in there apart from the central locking motor.

means that you have to get the tailgate past both stages of the latch.

not a good idea to wire to rear wiper, incase u activate the stalk by accident, if thats what u were intending to do that is.

i think you will have to wire it via a relay, the best thing to do is strip the boot release motor from an astra gsi, work from that.
