very easy to change, 2 min job, see in my engine pic the coolant pipe coming out the rad to the thermostate on the bottom left hand side of picture.
See there is a light blue plug to the left of the pipe, thats the coolant tepm sensor, simply unbolts and bolt back in

damn

theres sum sensor sumwhere thats makin the car not idle properly and i suspect its sumthing to do with the air control sumwhere, there aint any split pipes, and its a brand new iacv so dnt really know, but i cant afford to go around changing sensors left right and centre

i always have trouble with the small, tight as fuck wire breaking on the end of the plug on the air mass meter and causing the ecu light to come on. dont affect the revs or the eingine in any way tho

it basically tells the engine what temperature the air intake is at to get the correct air/fuel mixture (i think lol)

so u reckon it cud be that air meter thingy thats causing the revs to be gay?

wot does a map sensor do

Adam-D

posted on 31st Aug 04 at 10:08

and yours will have a map sensor where as a c16xe doesnt

Greasemonkey

smae job really as the Air Flow Meter, but it does it better and is more reliable, it basicaly mesures the amount of air entering the engine and the reading is used to adjust the fueling accordinly

sassyminx

posted on 31st Aug 04 at 10:05

yea i think it mite be that then, wot does that do?

Greasemonkey

posted on 31st Aug 04 at 10:04

the thing with an orange plug is the air mass meter, not air flow meter
You DONT have an Air Flow Meter

See the red silicone pipe after the filter, it goes to a silver/grey oblong thing, thats the AFM, you dont have one on your X16XE'd corsa you will have a Air mass meter,
