A DC10 is made by the company McDonnell Douglas and was built around the same time as the Tristar, which was made by Lockheed. Now, MD was swallowed up by Boeing, and Lockheed only build military aircraft. The Lockheed Tristar only flies as a military aircraft with the Royal Air Force, with the exception of a few middle-eastern countries using them as royal transports. The RAF call them the KC1, K1, C2 and C2A. The KC1 and K1 are of the tanker variety, with a few modifications differing from both. the C2 and C2A are still in their original airline configurations of around 260seats. The DC10 does not operate in any role like this around the world. [/quote]
