Cheers OJC, had a good response on there, seeming like its the syncro.

Won't know for definate until the box is opened up though. Knowing my luck it will be in a right mess inside!

Like Ditch said, your not going to get a decent answer on here unless your asking about big bodykits and lots of fibreglass.

Migweb would be able to answer your questions.

Going to drain the box's oil and see what comes out!

 cant be having gear crunching! Tis the worst sound in the world!

Mig-web are probably more qualified to tell you how much the synchros are going to sting the pocket

Infact when it went I missed second, and I'd NEVER missed it before.

The crunch doesnt make it any harder to get in second, jusy makes a noise like I cant drive ROFL

Yeah, think second has gone from launching and quick changes.

My mate is running a nova with a shade less power on an F20, if that can take the hammer, I'm sure my F28 will do so too!

the box hasnt done that much then? Still, the F28 is rated to 280lbs/ft so reckon your gonna go through a couple!

You've probably just cunted 2nd from launching maybe? - A nice expensive diff may allow some use of 1st without total meltdown at the tyres!

no its the one two blokes chucked together for a grand!

Not having box re-conned unless it has obvious bad wear, it was only done early in the year.

Over 300ft/lb I reckon. Cant see it ever getting accuratly rolling roaded, even the guys with the purple corsa said it was pulling on the rollers, so I can forget mine!

My best 1/4 is 13.5@108, with 0.5 off my 0-60 its going to knock more off my 1/4 as I'll be able to pull a higher speed all the way down the strip.

Get the box re-conned while its out, you know it makes sense. How much torque you reckon you got?

A decent diff will knock off plenty down the qtr mile ;)

What was the one lucky B had in his old corsa? Trans-x springs to mind :boggle:

Right, my F28 box is a bit poorley.

Its crunching into 2nd, but is fine into ALL other gears. Obvious analysis says syncro has gone. While the box is open I'm going to change all the syncros, as its sods law I'll just change the one, then get down the road and 3rd gear will go LOL.

Right my question is this. Are my bearings ok? What will the box behave like with them fooked?

Whilst the box is open I'm going to be investing in a 60% plated diff, which should see me sailing into the 12's hopefully.

Had a long chat with the blokes that own that purple/blue corsa on wheeltrims that does a 13.1 (top guys!) and a diff is deffo the way to go. I mean the only have just over 200bhp, but almost 100% grip! They were told a diff would knock 0.5 off their 0-60, so they tried with and without... and it did!

If I can get near that I could be looking 12.7!

And how much are the syncros for an F28?
