Maximum cost of a single premium-rate call, from memory, is £15......when the call-cost hits that, the operator has to advise you of this, and hang up, meaning you have to call back.

Seriously, contact ICSTIS and tell them about being put on hold......if enough people make the same complaint, FreeServe/Wanadoo's rights to use a premium-rate number will be legally withdrawn......I've trained for a premium-rate number, so was given all the legal-spiel for it. Actually managed to avoid taking a single premium-rate call by sticking to dealing with local-rate calls, but that was my prerogative as a 2nd-Line engineer where I was working at the time.

Errm, if you're paying 50p/minute, they CANNOT put you on hold.......by law.

If they have, send an official complaint to ICSTIS (the watchdog-company for premium-rate services).
