All Peugeots are quite good at handling standard. Well i've thrown around a 106, 205, 205GTi, 306 and 406 and all are quite good.

I got a 106 1.1 petrol and that's great 2.

The non turbo models are a diffferent kettle of fish. Its the turbos/headgaskets that go on the DT, where as the N/A engines are bullit proof.

Good, strong and reliable engines. Not to mention highly tunable :p

As with all Turb Dervs Kris, u want as much history prooving oil + filter changes as regularly as possibly, also coolant flushes/changes etc

I dont know any common "problems" with this engine, and i've be on PSOOC, PGAC and GTi6.com for 8/9 months now.

I guess its just sods law with these things....if u've bought one thats been ragged since new and not looked after, the turbo or headgasket or summat will go. On the other hand, you could buy a 150k engine thats been well maintained, and it'll last u a long while!

The rest of the car is french, and probably wont last long. Again, depends on year/condition when u get it.

If you wanna find out what goes wrong on a 306 DT, try the forum over at www.psooc.com . They know their stuff.
I've never had a problem with my '96 306 DT yet. The engine's certainly not a pile of shite, even on my 8 year old one.
