Yer if forwards to your site.

But also forwards e-mails sent to your domain name too - but you dont have to use this if you dont want. ;)

The best place I found is http://www.compila.com/

They are the cheapest and the support is pretty good.

You can get a domain name and hosting for as little as £12 a year.

for £14.99, u will only get a domain name from http://www.1on1names.co.uk .... web hosting will be extra wont it.

this is my first time with these things.... but basically i want:

-> user enters the nice url ie corsasport.co.uk.....

-> this takes them to the uni web space (ie uni1.ac.uk/index)

did u mention that the uni.ac.uk/index (for an example) will get masked?

Yer you can just host the site on your uni web space mate. Just register the domain and you type in you e-mail and uni web space address where you want it to forward to when people type in your 'nice' URL. :) It will forward all your e-mail sent to xxx@nice_URL.co.uk to the e-mail address you type in when registering (this can be changed at a later date if you change your current e-mail address).

i have a site at with a shitty url....so just looking to replace it with a nice co.uk one :D

The domains can forward to your free webhosting and it will mask the URL in your browser so users can see its hosted on a free web host.

Or you can e-mail them and set up more professional hosting and get them to forward your domain to where ever your site is hosted. They change the DNS setting to forward to like NS1.host.com, NS2.host.com.

i've used:

http://www.1on1names.co.uk

for all my domian names, they are good but you might be able to get the price cheaper from somewhere else.
