I got a 1.4 8v MPI and its been doing really well lately, can get 330 miles off 33 quid, but thats mainly motorway driving, although doing 90 -100mph constant, which is quite good.

my old 1.2 8v was really really pish on fuel no matter what way i drove her, struggled to get 300 miles to a full tank and that was a mixed bag of motorway miles, urban traffic and short runs.

only 290 on £40 odd quid in a 1.2 16v Sxi :(

[edit] Actually thats more like 290 on about £35 ish coz I never usually let it run empty - I usually refill at about 260 and get about £34 in...

Don't forget if you got exhaust systems etc + induction kits it'll probably hike up fuel consumption a bit too... Plus I never drive sensible :|

Cant really ocmpare fuel consumption figures too easy, as a major factor is whether the engine is warm or not. Doing short (5-10min) drives will kill the fuel economy compared to longer trips.

Also where your driving makes a lot of difference. Travelling at a constant 50-60MPH will get you better economy than going through roads where you have t keep slowing down and speeding up.

Its quite strange. I only seem to be able to squeeze 85-90 mile out of a tenner (usually just under 13 litres) no matter how i drive it. Thats a 1.4. My old 1.2 8v was the same .

with the turbo i cud get 90 odd miles to a tenner driving normally, when bootin it though it really drinks, and its hikin up in power aswell at the mo so its gonna drink even more:(

200 - 240 miles for a c20xe Tigra.

I've got the same problem!!! I think mines due to the running hot problem though. But £15 will last me around 100-140 miles depending on the driving. Drinks loads at full throttle, seems to drink nearly aas much under normal driving too :(

Ahhh well, all work in progress.

I only got 200 out of my 1.2 8v... That is poor, putting the 2.0 in to increase fuel economy, honest ;)
