280bhp was with the head reversed and tb's facing forwards, i plan to do this to a xe one day, just for the hell of it if nothing else

2.0 16v has been built to 280bhp by swindon racing, so im sure the 2.2 can be very highly tuned if you really want to.

X20XEV found in the later Astra GSi's, Cav/cally 2.0's.

Only 136 Bhp, but more likely to get one with lower miles, conversion kits available for it from PVD, and there are companies out there who make TB kits for it :thumbs:.

Do you have to give them a complete engine or would they take the trade-in in the same state?

how much is a brand new C20 from vaux without the trade in?


£1400 BUT u dont get stuff like inlet starter etc etc
so he would need have a engine for bits he dosent get

also same with LETS and V6's ;)

Buy a fuked XE for about £200
and take it vauxhall and they will do a part ex for a new one for £1200

so a brand new C20XE for £1400

i have just done this for a mate, and fitted it, this is how i know

was just having a conversation with someone about the engine in the veccy SRi 150, the 2.2 16v it makes 147 bhp and 149lb/ft so more like the c20xe rather then the x20xe.

Just wondered why we aernt seeing any corsas having this lump transplanted, i realise that companies out there do specific conversion kits for the 2.0, but how hard is it to modify or fabricate the bits for a 2.2?

I know the redtop is a great engine but they are at least 12 years old now, sure fine u can rebuild it but why not try the 2.2?
