I've been @ uni now for 3 years and only bought one book  Only cause i had to

Parents pay my bills and rent. All i pay for is the car which they say you don't need

Get 4k a year student loans as i don't live at home and also work part time in a call centre.

I have funded all four years of my uni course by working- I do a lot of hours and am on a fairly decent wage for the job I do, so I guess this helps to some extent. The only drawback I have found is that I don't get loads of spare time, for example I work AFD most weekends.

No I didn't take out a bank loan and I paid all of my tuition fees myself- it's just a personal thing- I didn't want to come out of uni into "the real world" and have massive debts hanging over me.

I also am now (thanks to my Mum!) really great at budgeting ie:working out how much needs to spent per month on rent, petrol, bills etc etc...

lovely job.....

I'm gonna apply for a QUEST engineering student grant, and possibly try the navy for a bursary....but knowing my luck, these will both fall thru.

I'm just gonna go round and open as many bank accounts as possible i think! I wont necessarily use them right up, just so i've got money there if i need it!

Wow, 3k from student loan a year is sod all. Gotta pay tutition fees, books, living with that?

I know abbey offer a 1k overdraft interest free.

Anyone know any other suggestions? Have u lot taken out separate bank loans for it?
