Yeah the corsa c has two stages on the petrol light. It comes on red when you got about 10 litres left, then it flash's when virtually empty

what is this flashing red light you guys talk about? i've seen people mentioning it on other petrol threads.

Is this only with the Corsa C? cos i've never had the red light flash in the Corsa B.

Also got 93 in my 1.8 SRI the other day before the light even flashed...I must have drove it carefully that week lol

This is the sorta post that makes me love my Derv so much :D

Anything less than 35MPG (£10 for 100 miles) in a new shape 1200cc corsa is crazy!! I used to get 40mpg+ in my 1.28v and that had 120k on the clock on 16"s. I feel you lot should really ease up on the right foot, and stick to under 3k revs.

Matt

i used to get 200milesper twenty with my 13" steelies, now i'm lucky to see 140miles and thats with granny style driving

I noticed this when I changed from 15s to 17s :(

Yes when I had my C SXi I made almost exactly £10 to 100miles... in my CTR it is £30 for 240 miles :S

1 gallon = 3.79 liters
£0.79 x 3.79 liters = £2.99 a gallon

£10 / £2.99 = 3.34 gallons per 110 miles

MPG = 32

How is that so bad for a shitty 1.2 16v corsa c!! i must have done summing wrong

inaccurate. the best way to do it is to fill up with a particular pump then drive and go bacl to same pump and fill up again. work out from that yourmpg

1 US Gallon = 3.79 litres geez

Oi u lot, derv is the way forwards  i've had 644 miles out of my tank before! :D

mine is real bad £30 = 220 miles i'm taking it in again i think as it suffers from quite alot of piston slap when cold

I thought 1 gallon = 4.5 litres but i went on www.askjeeves.com and it said 3.79 litres to a gallon...

Cheers mate im happy with 40mpg

MattyB

posted on 25th Apr 04 at 18:03

That calculation is incorrect mate

1 Gallon = 4.56litres

£10 / 0.79 = 12.66 litres you purchased.

12.66 / 4.56 = 2.78 Gallons you used

so: 110 miles / 2.78 Gallons =

39.57MPG

Matt

PS: i work this shit out all the time, and to be fair, 40mpg combined is a good figure for a revvy little 16v motor

Sounds about right depending on ur driving mate.

A full tank was about £35 and would do about 300 miles.

Oh and 17's but doubt that will make any difference.....
