tbh i cant see a panel filter giving a 4bhp gain, i mean its only a replacement in a standard o/e box :boggle:

I got one on my GSI, some one on here did a test using a drilled air box with panel filter, a K&N cone filter and a viper all done on the same day on the same car on same RR

quote: yeah they can increase power im sure, it seems like it in my car, not a lot, but its there... (i have a BFO cone) but i guess you need a shield from the engine heat plus cold air feeds etc for a good result. however the viper was meant to be one of the best because its made of carbon fibre? maybe it doesnt make a difference, my mate has one on his zetec s and says it aint that good! lol

hi i bought performance GTi magazine this month and it had an interesting test. they bought a standard 205 GTi [108.5bhp @ 6879rpm / 94.5lb/ft @ 5420rpm] and added a viper induction kit to it... after the kit was added it was running [108.1bhp @ 6596rpm / 93.2lb/ft @ 5443rpm] meaning a deduction in power. |
