found a place in yorkshire thru a friend, Motorscope? (sp) They do superchips but they get blank ones and map it on the car on their rr, rather than just ring up sc and tell them the spec  dunno how much tho

good shit Adam :D

They shouldnt be that lumpy at idle? ant vacuum leaks etc???

My old 1.4 16v had 264's fitted and was a complete nightmare below 3k rpm (even when mapped) and had to set the idle to 1100rpm

Get it mapped asap.... you'll love the difference :)

i studied motorsport at college, everything from mechanics to logistics schedules. apart from that no other experience. just needed to buy a complete top gasket set and a torque wrench.

got the pulleys here-

shouldnt do that, my old car had piper fats road cams, was only a 1.4 mk3 astra and it sounded lumpy on idle not jumping to 4k tho

Adam_B

posted on 25th Mar 04 at 21:08

i dont think it should be this bad, the tachometer jumps upto 4000 rpm then it nearly stalls, dont theink the engine actully revs that high, just the needle bounces up if u know what i mean

broster

with cams the idle will be lumpy, sounds good on idle with cams IMO!

just been for a blast on my fav road, didnt seem any different till i hit 4500 rpm, then it takes off :D:D some kid in one of the smaller bmws just got a shock  it had those big multispoke wheels on that bmw seem to stick on everything at the moment.
but it doesnt seem to like idling, is this just cos its on a stock ecu?

Sweet, verniers give slight bhp increase, but look ten times better than standard jobbies:thumbs:

Adam_B

the revs devinitly pick up quicker, the verniers are about 200 grams lighter than stock pulleys. Didnt get chance to boot it tho, my dad was in the car and kept telling me off for qoin fast :( also it needs a chip, want a fully mappable one but the only places round here do off the shelf pooper chips.

oh yeah, thanks to Andy and my Dad for helpin :)
