I have a problem like this. Mine tends to cut out when hot though. I had a problem with my gearbox, took it to Peugeot and they said it was a problem with the Air Flow (i know nothing about cars) and now the gearbox is OKish and now this prob. Will have to take it back AGAIN once i get chance.

Could be either the throttle position sensor, idel Contral Valve or Air Flow meter.

go for a long drive
give the car a hammering
if anything is sticking this can free it

also look into the throttle housing and give it a clean
