And I think you mean kbps not k/s, drunkenfool, unless you do have a 2Mbps line with Tiscali to get 240 kiloBYTES per second? In which case, I apologise! :D

k/s is the same as kbps as i did not state if it was bits or bytes. If I said kB/s then fair enough.

legend of yrag, lol, i had the same problem with tiscali when i lived at home with my parents. We had tiscali anytime (from the lineone days) and we got an email from them saying we are using in excess of the 150 hours/month, and if we dont cut down we will be disconnected
:D harmless threat i thought - well at the start of the next month we were disconnected from their services :! THEY MEANT IT ?! well, my dad wasnt too impressed as he runs his business from home -_- so i signed up with virgin.net anytime (and its anytime - all the time  ) something like 15 quid a month, the best u can get if u cant get broadband or cable at hour home. Happy surfing:wave:

I have read on a few forums now that tiscali have admitted to the cap when people have rung the support line to find out what the problem was. I have been doing bandwidth tests a few times a day for the last week, and i havent seen anything above 240k/s, and that was only once. Most speeds are around 80k/s, and as low as 13k/s!

I stay connected through AOL 24/7, have been now for the past 14 months I've had it!

I only ever got 2 emails from them, but that was when I was hosting a fairly popular forums while they were switching servers, so was only a stop-gap measure!

Had an average of 65 users online at any-one time, aswell as shoutcast streaming audio!

There main complaint though was someone had upped some porn to the forum so they wanted it removing, other than that they were fine with it!

mmmmm BT did that to me once. I had that BT highway dual ISDN jobbie ages ago, we paid like £40 per month for it for constant access, so we stayed signed on for a month. That pissed them off and we kept getting e-mails saying they were gonna disconnect us... In the end we just said fuck off and got broadband! From Pipex who let us stay online forever...

Everyone will be capping soon as they are not making the money they hoped they would.

Thats from there website, and also they have been doing this since May 12th 2003 (when there terms of use were updated...)

dump tiscali and go with UKonline

They do an anytime package that gives 16 hours aday (500 a month) for 4.99 for first 2 months and then 13.99 per month afterwards.

...have just sent me a letter stating i have spent too much time on the net this month

They reckon i have a 150 hr limit each month...so whats this 'anytime' all about then? And never had ne problems before.

They also stated that i should get broadband, well if i didnt live in a remote village i would:mad:

Anyone reccomend a company that i can actually use anytime during the month?? Freesearve etc???

Cheers
