quote: Right, it is possible to get the cover off without cracking it, but dont expect to do it in a hurry. To make things easier get a mate to help you out. One of you needs to heat it up really hot with a hairdryer, the other needs to cut between the perspex and the plastic. Keep heating up areas and gently prising the two appart. It will come appart, just be patient. As for the type that clips together Im pretty sure they were only on very early cars. I wanted to order a perspex cover from vauxhall, but the part has now been discontinued, and superceeded by the type thats bonded together. If you can get hold of just the perspex bit though im sure it'll fit. Tigra clocks are like these: These are out of a 1.6 sport, but you can't use them as you'll have a cable driven speedo . Also your dial surround wont fit properly :(. Right i think thats everything . Hope that helps :)

The whole thing comes off when unscrewed and you're left with a unit comprising of a clear perspex window (to see the clocks through) and a grey (in my case) plastic backing with holes cut out that goes over the clocks.

Ta bud, but I've got that bit out of the car. I'm trying to prize the plastic cover off now without breaking it to get inside that to put the dial surround on (nowt to do with the dials themselves)
