The police dont but the DVLA do now.

When you tax ya car they record the fact you have an MOT and insurance.
When the cameras scan ya plate it alerts the operator if they have expired.

If he has insurance that may be taken into consideration as he`d have to say he genuinly forgot the expirery date of the last mot. But if it was to be proved that the car had no MOT because it was unroadworthy then the insurance would become void

You can only drive to the test centre it if you have a pre-booked test .

If you're caught without one then your car is deemed unroadworth and Insurance is therefore void.

Insurance will be void as well so could well be a ban if caught.

You can only drive it to the test station and then back to your house/garage again. If your caught without it then they'll fook you.

And no, you cant pretend that your going to your test as they ask for proof that you've got a test, where its at, time etc.

Basically dont do it!

I think you can drive it so long as you have proof that you are driving it to the test station. Not sure about this though
