they charge based on the full balance on statement day as opposed to what's left so will be a full hit.

thats UP TO 46 days bear in mind, based on you makng a purchase the day after a statement is generated so a further 30 days until the next statement, then 14 days allowed for payment and 2days grace for funds to clear if you paid on the due-day, so 46 potential days interest free.

Forget this though. It causes too much hassle.

Just remember 2 weeks from the date your statement was printed (not received). aim t pay a few days early so the funds clear.

this i know cos until recently i was an underwriter for Egg and so I know a lot of the "competitions" practices - and how it's pissed off their customers :)

only if you clear your bill within 14 days of the statement being generatyed, right down to a nil balance do you avoid interest.

which defeats the object of a BT as you're moving it for 0% over time, but the purchases you rack up in the mean-time are paid off proportionally, not directly against the payments you make.

it's a poisined chalice mate.

barclaycard lifetime of BT 0% proviso £50 a month spending and repayments applied proportionally against BT then rest on purchases so you're racking up huge interest charges on an increasing balance of purchases that you'll have to pay off once the BT has cleared...

egg card - the only one worth its salt.
