Compaired to a Nova's 745Kg kerb weight.

The weight you saved pulling out your interior etc will be replaced more by the weight of your weld in cage.

Aren't the vehicle weights in the cars handbook?

Paul_J

posted on 11th Jan 04 at 17:07

They all vary to be honest, i.e. a 1.0 block weighs less than a 1.6. so the car will naturally be lighter. Also some figures include like 2 passengers and luggage, some don't etc...

Best way to find out the weight of your car is to get it weighed at the scrappies.

Would like to compare mine to a normal B when I've got it all kitted out :P

the interior padding & sound-deddening matts weighed quite a bit! reckon all the interior put together would weigh just as much as another engine & gearbox, if not more!!

Adam-D

i guess mine lighter
and yours a hell of a lot lighter as its got no feking engine!"

I used to think around 980kg, Haynes manual doesn't state, and is near impossible to find figures on the net!

So had a look at ncap (the crash test people), and there was a Corsa LS 1.2i (1996), and they say it weighs 874Kg! So how much are they then, I'm guessing ncap are correct due to the amount of tests they carry out n stuff!
