Well the way i look at it is thet no matter what you do to a car there's only the tyres between you and the road.

Most tyre packages use the most budget tyre they can and if your gonna get 17's or 18's you need a good tyre.

To be fair most are getting better but i'd buy seperate. It's worth it in the end :) As Kris said mytyres are cheap and the Proxies they sell are only about £10 more than what they get direct from Toyo.

yep, tyres will almost certainly be cheaper from mytyres.co.uk but dont forget to add 30 quid for fitting and balancing.

So maybe the option of being able to buy them with or without tyres would be a reasonable idea?

i bought my wheels and tyres seperately, worked out cheaper.

depends on prices really, if its a good deal then get without tyres.

I'm not buying, i could be selling. Want to know how people see the options so i can decide what action to take.

I bought lots of spare wheels for the rally car without tyres, but competition cars are different.

Usually buying wheels+tyres in a deal works out cheaper, but if your in a rush to buy wheels as they're being discontinued, then you'd obviously buy now.

But if they will still be for sale in a few months, wait and save as even though you'll have the wheels, you cant put them on the car can you? (Well, you could, but...)

Id suggest you saved and waited.

As title really.

Just want to know if people prefer buying wheels with tyres as a package or would quite happily buy alloys on their own and get tyres when ready?

PRO'S
Initially cheaper if can't afford all at once. Can get tyres at later date?
Can buy tyres of choice when ready?
Possible quicker delivery?

CON'S
Wheels need tyres.
Easier, ready to fit.

Any suggestions appreciated.
