I sell on ebay all time is so simple.
Had a good weekend sold £160 pound worth of stuff..

I only add pics if i really have to which isn't very often..U get charged extra for inserting pics.

I always put payment methods as cash, chq or postal order.

Is really straight forward. I always do 3 day auctions instead od 5 7 or 10.

I never put a reserve price either.say i'm looking for £30 i usually start the auction at £25 something like that.

This weekend sold

brand new cat boots £38.50
fifa 2003 for ps2 £15.00
nokia 3330 phone £37
renaissance 12 discs.. £93

think thats it..

If u think p and p will be £1 put it on at £1.50 etc...always add a wee bit on.

just follow there steps for joining and enjoy....:D

oh and what Kerry says the item name is one of the main bits because that what comes up in ppls searchs.

also I do not use any of the fancy auctions..adding colour and stars etc.

just a good title and description.

if u arnt assed on how much ure auction makes then dont bother with a reserve i think it costs more. e.g u find somat in ure garage that u just want out the way....... try it and see, like i did with my v grill and made a tenner

as for length or auction i dont think it really matters as people bid at last minute anyway but the longer the item is in for the more chance people will see it. depends how long u want to wait for ure money

i have never bothered with any of the extras either just a good description and good pics should do it

good tip.... when writin the title of the auction think about wot people may put in a search engine as its the titles that get searched

e.g if i wanted something for my vectra i would put vectra in my search box so if ure sellin somat off corsa maybe make sure u include it in title

the bidders dont know how much the reserve it, its just so you dont have to sell what4ever it is if its going for pittence. That was the fisrt time ive bothered with the gallery etc cos ive only sold cheap things on there before, up to you but not worth it on small items.

ahhhhhhhhhh wondered why it said "instructions to bank" on it yet i send it to EBAY

cheers kerry

the fees look like a nightmare to work out!!!!

think im gonna put some old crap on

any hints on putting reserves on?

low reserves encourage more bidding u think? best time to end actions?

did u pay for bold/galleries etc?

sorry i got mixed up with wot u are sayin

yes u get charged every month and they add up all ure fees in that month

i thought u meant u have to pay a monthly thing :look:

yes if u sell nothin u pay nothing

as for the form no idea i dont do direct debit i just wait for the email with my charge check its right then pay it at my leisure

M2RTY

no kerry, ure BILLED every month on what u sell

so if i sell 1000 things i get 1 large bill once a month

if i sell 5 things i get a small bill once a month

if i sell nothing tho how much do i pay? im presuming nothing

(sort of like a contract fone, more calls = more bill)

do i send this form off then?

i have this for sale at the moment, it cost me about £6 to list it as it has a £200 start, £350 reserve (cost £3.5, so im asuming its a 1% fee for reserves), more than one picture, supersized and in the gallery. http://64.4.46.250/cgi-bin/linkrd?_lang=EN&lah=20a07966ad60feb8b51b184fead23990&lat=1069765599&hm___action=http%3a%2f%2fcgi%2eebay%2eco%2euk%2fws%2feBayISAPI%2edll%3fViewItem%26item%3d2361974683

cheers kerry, so uve always sold it for good money?

ill say i only accept cash/cheque/postal order

buy it now dont bother me, i dont like it

think im gonna stick some junk on for 1p n/r

how do u pay ebay the % u owe them?

Kerry

posted on 25th Nov 03 at 12:14

when i have sold anythin on ebay i have not used any of the payment methods. just cash, cheque or postal order

yes i recommend u have good pics and be very descriptive that way noone can accuse u of false selling.

also if i remember correctly the lower the starting price the lesser listing fee u pay and as for buy it now i think u have to have sold so many things before u can use that option. im unsure on reserve as i have never used it.

also dont forget to include details on postage for example if u know how much it costs to post them put it on and state that buyer pays postage.

to be honest marv when it comes to listing something the procedure is pretty straight forward and there is help and guidence along the way to give u examples

good luck
