Originally posted by Ardencorsa It has been proved that airbags can often do a lot of harm. Usually happens due to a large number of people sitting closer to the steering wheel that they should be meaning they are forced back when it opens.
This is true. People sit too close causing the airbag to simply break your enck apon impact. My friend also was not wearing his seatbelt when he was hit head on at about 40+mph. He was knocked out and his car when spinning back accross the road into a fence. Where he was out cold, he looked dead as he swung past. No seatbelt on, but luckily he hit the airbag and headbutted the windowscreen. Airbags can be dangerous, but this time it saved his life!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont take the risk, is it really worth it? Especially you new young drivers! You dont really appreciate how bad a car can get mutalated at such a low speed!!
