Most have probably had at least a set of phase chips running through them which will have reduced its life span. Its common knowledge that in this day and age, they aren't mega reliable. Turbo's are weak, sensors play up alot and fault finding can be a nightmare. Then parts are hard to get or cost a premium. Knowing how well the Saab engine's take the punishment gives piece of mind too. On the whole, you can pick up a b204 for the same price as a 150k mile XE. Slot it in, tune it at home and have a reliable 240bhp just by playing on your laptop. I would say most of it comes down to cost. £ for power, its hard to beat.
