It's called an insert. Most (if not all) old Fords are like that, 205s too

MK3 Astras, Cavaliers, Calibras all have the same setup.

The spring goes over the shock. Its just like a normal set-up,except the absorber can be removed.

I have a funny feeling its cars with a long strut that have removable shocks.

Corsa B and Mk4 Astra have short strut set-up,absorber cant be removed.

Saxo has long strut, absorber can be removed.

Alright so the spring doesn't sit on the shocker, strange setup.

No,i mean removable from the strut like i have said.

Shock sits in strut, and a threaded cap screws in to hold the shock in.

Yeah shaun like that.

For instance,Corsa B and Mk4 Astra, the shocks are built into the strut.

I knew about Saxo shocks being removable, just waiting to hear back from Saxp with some measurements.

Need to know a list of cars that have removable shock absorbers.

I.E they can be removed from the strut.

So what have you worked on over the years, where the absorber is removable.

Front only please.
