omega is a potential, but maybe a little bigger than we need. there was only one that came up on AT and that was right at the top of the budget like the passat. sounds fun though.

5series touring would also be cool, but i expect servicing wold be quite dear, as well as running costs.

I've shown some potentials to the bosses, so will keep you posted on what they think.

cheers for the input. :)

if you like the astra seriously then have a look at the vectra sri 130 and 150 estates.. normally have full heated leather, cruise, air con etc very well speced for the price you would pay atm

i was liking the look of the octavia and passat, but the VW is right at the top of the budget.
Am i right to think they are largely the same car?

octavia would be a good call

just seen a 307 that looked really nice, but i guess that can be crossed off.

just preparing a list for the bosses of a few that are available locally, and seems that these are in budget:

Focus diesel estate
307 diesel estate
astra diesel estate
vectra diesel estate
citroen c5 diesel estate
mondeo diesel estate
Octavia diesel estate
fabia diesel estate
xsara diesel estate
passat diesel estate

any other opinions about this bunch?
the other company vehicle is a citroen dispatch 1.9 non turbo diseasal, so we're all used to driving something pretty crap.

The 307 SW is horrendous. I used to drive one on a regular basis and it was awful. The Focus is better

406 ?
307

Focus can be an option. i would have thought they might be a bit much.
it will be a company vehicle, so ideally needs to be silver or white.

there's two in budget on pistonheads, but they're maroon and green.

any ideas?
i've been charged with finding one for work.

already thought of astra.
was thinking Saab 9-3/9-5, but they seem to be 2.3T petrol engined, and it should be a diesel really.

there must be something out there thats a better option than the astra? (not that they're bad, but there must be something quicker/more comfy etc.)
