quote: I used to get the same. I only did town driving so consumption isn't good. On a run it was much better.

am i correct in saying that different tyres will affect fuel consumpsion. i fit tyres at work and some profiles like 65 say fuel saver on them so just thinking this could be a factor. i get 25 mpg from my x14xe with 205/40zr17 tyres. pretty crap mpg tbh.

quote: Mine is same year as yours and mine does abit more than that. Your rapping it mate, thats all it comes down to. You dont realise how much fuel you save untill you drive at the speed limit everywhere. On my last tank i average 38mpg n that includes doing literally half the tank around town. Then when im on the a roads to work i just did 70. I didnt nail it to the limit, just change gentley at 3k! But i was in a chill out mood that week.

My 1.4 16V was very good on fuel even with a green induction kit on, used to get around 400 miles to a full tank, long runs were the best it used to just sip fuel, nearly on a par with the 1.2 8v I had before

Mine was the opposite. Suffered a huge loss in fuel rate when i put the XE in.

shite my valver corsa got more miles out of a tank than my 1.4 did any day never understood why they drink the juice that much even if you dont hammer it everywhere

probably the boost valve, you dont need it because standard fuel pressure is fine unless you've modified the engine massively
