its a big spring pre-loaded
when the seat belt is jolted in a accident is spring's back pulling the seatbelt tight

The pretensioner is a small explosive device the detonates when you crash, it explodes and pulls the seatbelt in which pulls you back into the seat iirc

after work i decided that because my new spare wheel will be arriving soon i would take the false floor out and get it ready to cut a hole in it for the spare.
i also removed the rear panels and the rear door cards

i decided what the hell as i had a spare can of satin black paint spare so decided to see if it was possible to spray a fabric door car. it came out ok but it needs another coat as its abit patchy in places

i got abit carried away with the dismantling (sp) and decided to remove the seats aswell so that i could remove the old pretensioners from the subframes.

and then i got even more carried away and decided to see what it was like under the carpet so out that came aswell as the sound deadening. it was wet under there also so it all came out. i also decided that with no carpet in the front i wouldn't be right havin the false floor so i abandoned cutting it up and took it totally out inc the framework.

what do people think so far? i dont think im going to strip it anymore altho the door cards will all go black and the rest of the interior plastics will be flocked.

next step is to keep calling around for insurance (cheepest ive found is £1125 tpft with flux as a provisional quote) and also get it running propperly again. then i will start cleaning up the rear end and respray the rear end where its all scratched

cheers for reading the essay
