The chromes got sold to someone on seatcupra.net

Its not a hard job (from what I can see), just need some awkward tools. (m14 spline bolt) and its recommended to have a VAG hub spreader for getting the shock out of the hub (the bit me and danny h fucked up  )

On the second side, J100rsa decided to disconnect the caliper, and the driveshaft thingy from the gearbox, so the shock never left the hub! Obviously this would be no good if the shocks were being replaced too.

Cheers for all the comments, good to know all this fucking about is worth it

the newer ones are a bit of a pig as they have a little metal bar that clamps into the hubs.there a right bugger to get out.
rears are pish easy though

Was it a big job? I'd love to lower mine but only if I can do it myself.

Me and a fellow bodger attempted to fit the springs ourself, foobaring the bracket on the shock big time, causing it to slip lower in the hub. :o

Finally took the car to J100RSA's to have my Koni springs put on my Ibiza, and must say he did an awesome job, however we uncovered a fair bit of damage to the front drivers side shock, hence its a wee bit lower on my side  The back is still settling in, however the front dropped as soon as the jack was lowered.

Also Got rid of bling mirrors that came with the car :o
