The locking nut is round...so there isnt anything to grip onto it...

thats what the hammer is for, get a socket that doesnt quite fit and make it fit.

Right the locking nut is completely round...it doesnt have any flat surface to it at all...the 4 prongs that go into the locking nut from the key are basically what turn the nut and give it leverage...so grinding a flat side isnt an option...

Really stuck here :(

nooo  just twat the socket onto the locking nut with a hammer, you dont need to grind anything! trust me, ive done it with vaux locking wheel nuts and McGuard ones.

Prob would work...

The piece of crap nuts will be binned once there off!!

will only work on 1 nut though..what about the other 2..just chisel the damn things off

A few people have said this to me...but how do you actually chisel it off??

Sounds damaging

Also the hole the nut sits in is very tight with the nut...not much room either side...

cant you grind the bolt flat at each side and get a huge adjustable spanner on it?

:o

Took the Pug to have the tyres changed...has 306 XSI alloys on with locking nuts....changed the first tyre fine no problems...2nd tyre the locking key that goes on the bar snaps...they have four teeth and 3 sheer off...

Trip to Peugeot..."No sorry we dont stock them locking nuts anymore....You will have to drill the bolt off" :!

Thought fcuk that...took the key to a engineers who bodged the key...but no joy...stuck now with locking nuts that wont come off  ...tyres that need changing.... ...and an MOT looming...

The locking nuts are known for doing this and being shite it says on all the pug forums...

Any idea on how to get them off?

Anyone got any ideas?

:boggle:
