All Vaux 16v and 24v vehicles manufactured from 97 to 02 need cambelt change every 4 years/40k. Timing chains shouldnt require replacement, unless your fitting a new engine etc, as long as they are maintained properly and regularly serviced etc | |

Chain driven engines are pretty much zero maintenence. | |

I replace cam belt, rollers and tensioners every 30k. | |

tell her to get belt and water pump changed at the same time cos the pump is driven off the belt and as soon as the belt slackens so do the bearings in the pump | |

Women at work got Astra SXi 1.6 she jsut done 40k, does she need to change cam belt?! Just wonderd how many miles..... |
