If i were to buy a number plate on a retention certificate what would it then cost me to put it on my car? | |

Well can i recomend halfords 1mm number plate adhesive. Works a treat and is only £1.69 or £1.96 cant remember. | |

Fee to retain is £25, the other £80 is assignment fee which is paid in advance of it going on another vehicle. | |

You'd have to contact DVLA and get them to do it, tell them you want to keep the plate on retention until you have another car to transfer to. Note that transfer costs are around £80. | |
