In terms of a boot build design, you'd be better off starting again.

For ease, you might be best keeping the boxes you've got as their volume should be better suited to the subs rather than you having to mess working out how big your new enclosures will be.

Just outside Wolverhampton, what i have said is exactly what i want to do i just thought it would make sense to use the box seem as the sub's are spaced out how i would like them and its a professinally made box etc .... or do you still believe i would be better off starting again , Rob

Cheers for replies BTW

Where are you in the country? I'm sure there's a few people on here that could lend you their experience for a couple of hours to get you started.

i am a total novice at this to be honest which is why i was hoping to keep the sub boxes as i wouldnt be confident to make the boxes for the subs

Take the sub out of the box, sell the box.

Make your own custom enclosure to the shape you're after.

ah sorry, i have all ready got a twin sub box which i intend to still use.

1. make a false floor
2. not sure about this but make like a "ramp/slope" to sit the sub box on to make it at a 45 degree angle, then secure with screws.
3. Make a piece of MDF to go across the subs so it all sits flush and all that is visible is the two subs and none of the wiring etc would be seen.

Does this sound like a good idea ?

Any tips for me when im doing this

anything i need to look out for when doing it

Cheers Rob

You'll need MDF for the boxes which you would normally carpet but you could use fiberglass etc. to shape something up and paint it etc.

waht materials do people use to build boot builds, got 2 jl audio 12 inch subs, was hoping to have them placed at a 45 degree angle, and was thinking about making a top piece to go right across the whole boot so just the subs are showing any examples of this? Pics and Info needed Cheers Rob
