thats a good deal i got mine for £2000, the guy said it had a majour oil leak we went up looked at it, took it back down and changed the oil pressure switch which was fecked and no more leak, £3 part and saved a good load, if u get someone to check it over and find out why its so cheap u might just have the upper hand. good luck if u go for it

ask in the northwest region for people from preston, send them down to check it out.

well he's replied and says that the mounts he fabricated himself and they are nearly solid....does this sound normal?

Don't want to travel all that way if it's going to be a bit dodgy....

m4tt_c or the guru's are both for sale between 3k and 3.5k. much better bargains than that IMO.

they could be custom made or welded maybe.

nope, just needs to be supported, and if you do one mount at a time it will be easier

is it not an engine out job if the mounts need changing?

Ian

That might be why. Maybe he just means its noiser than the other engine. It won't be anything major, mounts are easily changed and readily available.

maybe..

Chump

posted on 18th Dec 04 at 17:41

so do you reckon its legit then?

Mattb

posted on 18th Dec 04 at 17:39

he may be using polyurethane rubbers on the engine mounts..

Jodi_the_g

posted on 18th Dec 04 at 17:36

Becuase the mounts don't fit properly resulting in more movement of the engine

Chump

yeah i aint thick! I understand that he will be using custom mounts but why should there be vibration.....don't seem to remember anyone else on here a XE mentioning this?

MarkW

vauxhall never made engine mounts, as a 2.0 was never designed to fit in a corsa, so therefore engine mounts have to be fabricated - vibration dont know - aint a mechanic

What do you think he means by 'non manufacturer engine mounts therefore engine vibration higher than normal' ??
