Also less paracitic loss through the crank as less deflection of the crank will occur, in theory. | |

4) The main benefits of having 5 main bearings in a crankshaft are that they keep the it well supported, ensuring that the pressure put on it from the pistons stops it being from bent. The more places the crankshaft is supported, the more force can be placed upon it. Having five main bearings is also more balanced on a four cylinder engine: | |

yes more support, crank could be lighter, handle more power | |

Anyone know the answer to this, have to know for my assignement. My guess is that it offers more support, meaning the crankshaft is less likely to get bent? |
